The Covenant University Enactus, which finished in third position on its debut outing at the National Competition in 2016, had emerged second in the 2017 edition held from July 4-7 at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, in Lagos, where it was second best only to the Ahmadu Bello University Enactus.

Receiving the Covenant Enactus team in his office on Monday, July 10, 2017, the Vice-Chancellor thanked God for the good things He is doing in the University, and said that the team had done well after weeks of preparations.

While assuring the Covenant Enactus of more support from the University Management, Professor Atayero urged Enactus members not to rely on preparations only but to always put the right thing first, which is spirituality. “I’m convinced gold is coming next year, we are proud of you,” he added.

In his comments, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shalom Chinedu, also congratulated the Covenant Enactus and described the feat achieved by the team as the Lord’s doing. He charged the members not to rest on their oars and begin to aim for the top prize in the next edition of the national competition.

God was with us,” he said.

Giving a vote of thanks on behalf of his colleagues, the Acting Leader, Covenant Enactus, Mr. Segun Olabinjo, expressed gratitude to the Covenant Management for its support and assured that preparation for next year’s edition of the Enactus national competition starts immediately.

Olabinjo revealed that the goal of Covenant Enactus is for Covenant University to be the first University to win the national competition and go on to win the Enactus World Cup. The event was rounded off with Dr. Oluwatobi leading the Enactus team to present the trophy and plaques won at the national competition to the University management.
