Covenant Microfinance Bank (CMFB), Ota, Ogun State, has solicited the support of Covenant University as the bank moves to reposition its operations to meet the expectations of its customers.

The new Managing Director of the CMFB, Mrs. Odunola Owolabi, made the request on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, when she led members of the bank’s Management Team on a courtesy visit to the Covenant University Management.

Describing CMFB as a baby of the University, Mrs. Owolabi appealed that the bank should not be left behind as the University makes giant strides globally in its primary responsibilities. She said that the essence of the visit was to see how both institutions can work together on new initiatives.

Earlier on, speaking on the purpose of the visit, a member of the CMFB Board and former Acting Managing Director of the bank, Dr. Abiola Babajide, said that it was to let the Covenant University management know that the bank has a new management in place and is now well-positioned to serve the community better.

In his comments, the Director, Financial Services, Covenant University, Pastor Sunday Abayomi, urged the microfinance bank to embrace cutting edge technology to achieve effective and efficient services.

The Vice-Chancellor, Covenant University, in his remarks, said that he was impressed that the new Managing Director was making efforts at improving CMFB’s operations. He, however, suggested that the bank should introduce cashless banking, develop innovation to aid their day-to-day operations as being done by Covenant University, and maximize the opportunities that come with the management of huge accounts.

Also on the CMFB team to Covenant University were the Head, Administration, Mr. Solomon Obaniyi; Head, Operations, Mr. Peter Atolagbe; and Head, Information Technology, Mr. Ibukun Oluwunmi.

Other members of the Covenant University management at the meeting were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shalom Chinedu; Registrar, Dr. Olumuyiwa Oludayo; and Director, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Dr. David Omole.
