Faculty, Student Boost Covenant in Accounting Events
Buoyed by the tradition of success associated with Covenant, representatives of the University have distinguished themselves and made the institution proud in two events in the field of Accounting.
Two faculty members, Mr. Olamide Olusanmi and Mrs. Folashade Owolabi emerged 3rd and 4th, respectively, following their presentations at the 5th ICAN International Academic Conference on Accounting and Finance in Kaduna State University, Kaduna.
The Colloquium paper titled, ‘Determinants of Water Management Accounting Practice in Nigeria’, presented by Mr. Olusanmi, won the third-place prize with a total score of 66.92% among the colloquium papers presented at the conference, while Mrs. Owolabi’s presentation titled, ‘Performance Measurement Innovations and Organizational Outcomes in Nigerian Listed Companies’ was rated fourth with a total score of 66.67%.
Also, a 100 Level student of the Department of Accounting, Fatimah Dashe, was a prize winner by emerging the 3rd best student in the Accounting Technicians Scheme (West Africa) examination (ATSWA March 2019 Diet). She attended the C-PAC classes.
These performances are yet another good news for Covenant in the 2018/2019 Academic Session, which had already witnessed tremendous successes especially in terms of recognition by the world universities ranking body, the Times Higher Education (THE).
