Summary of Profile
Onibokun Elizabeth Adeola is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences (Microbiology Unit). She has a B.tech in Food Science, an MSc in microbiology and currently studying for a Ph.D in Microbiology. Her research areas are in food and industrial microbiology. Her focus is in the area of microbial physiology where she is currently investigating the role of microbial enzymes in improving food safety and availability using biotechnological techniques. She has won a few awards including Institute of Research Engineers and Scientist Excellent Paper Award for Best Presentation/Best Content at the international conference held in Lumpur, Malaysia in July, 2015, the Predictive Analytics Modeler Mastery Award by IBM Skills Academy and Award for Best Oral Presentation at 7th International Biotechnology Conference, Exhibition and Workshop in March, 2017. In 2018, she won a 12,000USD research grant from the International Foundation for Science, Sweden. She is a member of the Association of Industrial Microbiologist of Nigeria, International Society for Computational Biology (ISBC), Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST) and Organization of Women in Science in Developing World (OWSD). She teaches Microbial Taxonomy and Classification, Laboratory Techniques in Microbiology, Bacteriology, Microbial Physiology, Food Microbiology, Fermentation and Substrate-Enzyme Biotechnology
