The Ota District of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has commended the support so far received from Covenant University on the forthcoming Zonal Conference of the professional body to be hosted by the University.

The Chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the conference, Pastor Olufela Sokenu, gave the commendation on Friday, November 17, 2017, when he led members of the LOC to pay a courtesy visit to the Management of Covenant University. He said that ICAN still counts on Covenant’s support as the district steps up its preparation ahead of the conference, scheduled to hold from February 12 – 15, 2018.

Unfolding plans for the conference, Pastor Sokenu said the LOC was working on getting the Chancellor and Chairman, Board of Regents, Covenant University, Dr. David O. Oyedepo, to bless the gathering. According to him, the organisers also expect the Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and former President Olusegun Obasanjo to grace the event.

He said the Vice-Chancellor, Covenant, Professor AAA. While expressing ICAN’s trust in Covenant to provide excellent facilities and logistics for the conference, Pastor Sokenu added that Ota District would like to collaborate with faculty of Covenant to train bursars in Nigeria and West Africa.
