Encomiums Galore as Vice-Chancellor Celebrates Birthday
It was encomiums galore on Friday, October 26, 2018, as members of Management of Covenant rejoiced with the amiable and award-winning Vice- Chancellor of the University, Professor AAA. Atayero, on the occasion of his birthday.
In his remarks at the occasion, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Akan Williams, appreciated God for the life of the Vice-Chancellor, calling him “a man that is full of credibility.”
He pointed out that the Vice-Chancellor’s credibility and integrity are the reasons the Chancellor, Covenant, Dr. David Oyedepo, has developed so much confidence in the Management of the University.
He added that the disruptive approach adopted by the Vice-Chancellor has helped to bring about a new level of flexibility and creativity, which has generated more achievements. “We trust God to take you to a higher level of impact sir,” he declared.
In his birthday wish to the Vice-Chancellor, the Acting Registrar of the University, Dr. Lanre Amodu, stated that the Vice-Chancellor is someone who does not believe in working strictly by protocol, but rather believes in breaking protocols in order to achieve a given result.
He appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for being a great leader, with a very creative imagination, very inspiring stories and from whom he has learned a lot. “I pray that God will exceed your prayers for yourself,” he said.
The attributes that stand out according to all the members of Management present, was “the celebrant’s humility, integrity, compassion, resourcefulness and hard work”. They all agreed that he was a man of exceptional resourcefulness and imagination, who always believed there were many ways to achieve results.
While appreciating God as well as members of the Covenant Management who felicitated with him, Professor Atayero expressed his joy at the great privilege accorded him by God to see another birthday and to be able to celebrate it with both his family and the Management team.
He acknowledged the encomiums poured on him, stating that he appreciated God for the privilege to serve while pointing out, however, that God had not given any man the monopoly of knowledge; therefore, everyone had something to contribute to make the work possible.
He gave all the glory to God for the great privilege of holding the position of Vice-Chancellor and being able to work with a great team in order to achieve the vision of the University of raising a new generation of leaders.
Thanking God for the journey so far in the attainment of a world-class status, he pointed out that only God could have made Covenant University the best in Nigeria and West Africa in such a short time.
