Covenant Shines at 2017 Society of Chemical Engineers Students’ Project Design Competition
Chemical Engineering students of Covenant have won the third place prize, at their maiden appearance at the annual Students’ Project Design Competition of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE). The national competition which took place in September this year, attracted entries from all institutions in the country offering Chemical Engineering as a programme.
The 7-man team was presented with the award and a cash prize at the 47th Annual Conference of NSChE held between Thursday 9 to Saturday 11, November 2017, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for their project entry ‘Design for the Production of 100 Tonnes per day of Sugar from Sugar Cane.’
Receiving the good news, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor AAA. Atayero commended the Head, Department of Chemical Engineering, Professor Vincent Efeovbokhan, supervising faculty and the team for a successful first time participation, noting that the University expects that the Department would compete in subsequent annual competition.
Representing Covenant’s Department of Chemical Engineering at the competition were Adetayo Adetoro Oluwatoyin, Adewunmi Olanrewaju Anu, Bankole Ayotomiwa, Okafor Marvin Chibuoke, Oluwagbero Oluwaseyi, Eboigbe Comfort Enosagie and Adesanmi Adedoyin Ayomide.
